What Happens If…

What happens if your son/daughter fails GCSE maths?

  • Will they be allowed to do their chosen subjects at ‘A’ Level?
  • Will they be accepted onto their 1st choice apprenticeship?
  • Will they be refused entry into college?

Or, perhaps, worst of all…

  • Will they have to spend countless hours in the mind-numbingly boring re-sit class when they should be doing the subjects they love?

If you have even the tiniest suspicion that all is not well in Maths, then we urge you to seek help now!

Every Easter we experience a mass panic as parents scramble to get support for their son/daughter as they struggle to reach the level they need in Maths.

IT IS TOO LATE!

By Easter of year 11 you will need a magician.

Typically, students need 20–30 hours of high-quality learning to move up one level.

So, if your son/daughter is a level 3, they will need to put in 40-60 hours to achieve a level 5 (pass/Grade C).

THAT IS A LOT OF MATHS!

Sadly, not every student copes with the extreme time pressure when juggling 10 subjects, after-school revision sessions and early exams like language oral exams and drama.

It is a highly stressful time for students, parents and teachers and each year a large proportion of students fail GCSE Maths.

They end up in the re-sit class the following year, doing a subject they HATE when they should be spending that time on the subjects they LOVE.

Imagine having a confident, relaxed and positive teenager in May and June. A student who is going into their GCSE Maths exam knowing exactly what to expect and how to deal with it.

No, we are not describing a miracle – these are the things we do, every year, for our students and parents here at Wicked Maths.

If you are wondering what all the fuss is about, please watch the video where our lead teacher explains – in brief – some of the major changes from the old A* to G exams to the New (9-1) GCSEs.

What Our Students and Parents Say

Here’s what our students and parents say about the Wicked Maths App::

“I had several queries, all were answered promptly, helpfully & fully with absolutely no hard sell, but truly outstanding customer service.

More importantly, Wicked Maths really does take the boredom & fear out of Maths. Have a look at a video yourselves & you will see. I am not a Maths lover, I hated it at school. When I picked up my GCSE results many years ago, I did not see any of my A’s, I was only looking to see if I had scraped a C at Maths ( I had), so I wouldn’t have to re-sit it.

Watching these videos with my daughter made me want to relearn Maths long forgotten.

My daughter has always lacked confidence in Maths, giving her quite a mental block & a strong dislike of it. She was afraid to try in case she couldn’t grasp what she should be learning. Wicked Maths has already really helped her to see Maths differently & become more positive about it. By being less fearful, or bored from staring at books or papers, she has realised she can actually do it & learn quite easily.

I am really confident that with the help of Wicked Maths we have turned a corner in attitude & ability. This has also massively reduced some of the GCSE stress.

This is the best money I have spent in a long time & definitely the best money ever spent on school study or revision resources.”

Sarah Fitt (Parent) 2019

“wicked maths helped me achieve a grade 7 (A) in maths therefore me now being able to take A-level maths. i found this support incredibly useful giving that every single question on there was a video talking you through how to tackle the question and you could watch it as many times as you like to help you understand that topic better if not perfectly. it really helps better your understanding of each topic. i cannot fault wicked maths one bit as the support they give is massive, they reply to PMs very quickly and are all so friendly and happy to help out whenever they can!”

Jack Pelling (Student) 2019

“I would highly recommend wicked maths because Sarah shows you how to break down some of the tough questions.

Maths is a challenging subject but the videos are clear and help you break questions into chunks to reap the most points you can per question.

I’ve passed today with a grade 5 at the grand age of 45.

I enjoyed the count down from wicked maths towards the exams. It gave me that extra motivation towards the end I’m sure.

Wicked maths thank you!

Hope you continue to help and inspire many more students young and old.
Don’t be scared of maths. just look for help and support.

Wicked maths was a great source for me.”
