What happens if your son/daughter fails GCSE maths?

• Will they be allowed to do their chosen subjects at ‘A’ Level?

Every Easter we experience a mass panic as parents scramble to get support for their son/daughter as they struggle to reach the level they need in Maths.

By Easter of year 11 you will need a magician.

Typically, students need 20–30 hours of high-quality learning to move up one level.

So, if your son/daughter is a level 3, they will need to put in 40-60 hours to achieve a level 5 (pass/Grade C).

THAT IS A LOT OF MATHS!

Sadly, not every student copes with the extreme time pressure when juggling 10 subjects, after-school revision sessions and early exams like language oral exams and drama.

It is a highly stressful time for students, parents and teachers and each year a large proportion of students fail GCSE Maths.

They end up in the re-sit class the following year, doing a subject they HATE when they should be spending that time on the subjects they LOVE.

Imagine having a confident, relaxed and positive teenager in May and June. A student who is going into their GCSE Maths exam knowing exactly what to expect and how to deal with it.
